Construction of Phase 1 of the Colorado River Pump Station Improvement Project

Construction of Phase 1 of Ute Water Conservancy District’s Colorado River Pump Station Improvement Project is complete. The project involved the full rehabilitation of this raw water pump station to increase capacity to 16 MGD. Project components included the installation of three new 500-hp vertical turbine pumps, variable frequency drives, a new motor control center, and new electrical, controls, and HVAC improvements. In addition, the project included the replacement of several hundred feet of 30-inch welded steel pipe including the crossings of Interstate 70 and the Orchard Mesa Power Canal.
